If you are someone who wants to have a deeper understanding of how NASA and the industry works, this is a great starting point for you!

Space has traditionally been a sector reserved for astrophysists and rocket engineers, but Jeff manages to break that barrier and communicate the intricacies of NASA and its organization in 'plain English.' As an entry-point and stepping stone to further curiosty and knowledge, I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who's curiosity has been piqued by all the recent space-mania going on!

Jeff Nosanov distills his knowledge and experience from working at NASA JPL for a decade to show how NASA funds, organizes, and runs its planetary science missions. His style is engaging, clutter-free, and informative without including a lot of detail that would bog down a layperson. This book is a fantastic primer for those who want to understand what NASA/JPL does without committing too much time to study the organization in detail.

Meet the Author

~ Jeff Nosanov

I worked for NASA for over a decade across the country. From mars rovers, to space stations, to alien life-detecting missions;

I saw it all.

I've worked with astronauts, led deep space mission design projects, and saw all the different ways we might look for alien life.

I explored how we might leave the solar system and explore the caves on the moon.

I saw planets form and stars die.

I learned from global experts about how humanity might save, or doom itself.

I saw drama, waste, greed, but also hope, dreams, and joy.

And all of this, I share with you in my book "How Things Work At NASA". I hold nothing back, because you deserve to know what is really going on.
